Different Forms Of Depression |

Depression is a mental disorder which is related to change in mood. Depression
is the biggest enemy of a person. One feels sad or depressed for many reasons.
There are many people suffering from this mental disorder known as depression. There are many different types of depression which are atypical, bipolar, melancholic, clinical, major and seasonal affective or uni-polar and endogenous. 1) Atypical Depression:The name itself tells that a person under atypical depression behaves exactly opposite of a depressed person. For example depressed people eats less than a normal person and also do not sleep for 8 hours but a person suffering with atypical depression eats a lot and also sleep a lot. They show swing in their mood2) Bipolar Depressions:It is a form of depression in which a person shows manic episodes. It is a serious problem and must be treated. They may commit suicide or break their marriage or take some harsh decisions.3) Melancholic Depression:Person tends to be depressed even if some good event takes place. The person is unable to change his or her depressed mood.4) Non-melancholic Depression:It is just an opposite of melancholic depression. The person is attached with the events which makes him or her stressful.5) Cyclothymiacs Disorder:It is similar to bipolar disorder but a person has mild mood swings for a very long time.6) Dysthymia Depression:The person has a pessimistic outlook towards his or her life. The person suffers with low concentration, lack of energy depressed mood etc.7) Major Depression:It is another name given to clinical depression or uni-polar depression. It is serious problem. This may occur in women due to hormonal changes in women or also miscarriage or menopause may result in major depression.8) Postpartum Depression:When a woman gives birth to a baby and experience a rare depression for a period of one week to six months is known as postpartum depression. They feel tired and face problems like insomnia also some physical changes also takes place.9) Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder:It's a very rare form of depression, not found commonly. It occurs in women during the last weeks of menstrual cycle where they feel frustrated and depressed.10) Psychotic Depression:It is found very rarely in people but a very serious one. Person under Psychotic depression are depressed, they also show the symptoms of delusions (A mistaken or unfounded opinion or idea).11) Agitated Depression:A person suffering with Agitated Depression can be identified if he or she shows impatience, anxiety.12) Anxiety Depression:In this form of depression a person shows panic attacks or has a social phobia.13) Catatonic Depression:This is a type of a major depressive disorder. The person doesn't like to talk much, unable to understand instructions give to him or he also repeats movements of others which have no meaning.These are few forms of depression other include, Double Depression, Neurotic Depression, Single Episode Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Endogenous Depression, Recurrent Episode Depression. |
